A  Village Project--BURNING MAN 2008

Terminal City (Village) Theme Camp Neighborhoods include:

APOKILIPTIKA, Espresso Camp, Camp Herring 08, 667-The Neighbors of the Beast, Booby Bar, MASH 4207th, Galileo Shuttle, Diva Den and Sex Filth Ave.

Several theme camps have joined forces to develop a new Theme Village for Burning Man 2008.  Called "Terminal City," we are looking to occupy a section near the 3:00 keyhole along A st.    Other camps  and members from other camps are in consultation about joining this effort.

Set Up Plan

Terminal City will begin set up on Friday, pre-opening.  Equipment will be carried in by members- no truck deliveries.

It is likely that an early (pre Saturday) crew of 3-4 per camp will arrive to begin flagging and measuring the village, and to assist with our allied  Terminal City camps and their layouts, as well as the layout for the Terminal City Complex -- after placers have confirmed location of course.

The camp is renting a porta-john unit in Sparks, and is anticipated to be hauled in by a camp member on the first Saturday.    The unit is planned to go into the shared common space and will have pumper access (see maps).

Main structures will be set up on Saturday, with detailing on Sunday.

No significant ground disturbance is anticipated- apart from heavy rebar staking...  no pits.  Minor ditching for safty of electric lines anticipated.

A large evaporation pond will handle all grey water and shower run off needs, with appropriate piping!

The antenna for WTF 99.9 Radio APOKILIPTIKA is likely to be shorter than in years past, and anchoring simpler.

No heavy equipment will be used.

No other significant set up issues are anticipated for this village.

Terminal City Leave No Trace/ Clean-Up Plan

Clean up begin the Sunday following the burn.  Most camp members will be staying through Sunday, and there will be a good clean up and pack up crew.

Since this village will not result in any burn scars, nor significant ground disturbance, clean up is straightforward.

§          Recyclables will be hauled to Recycle Camp

§          All grey water will be properly evaporated before pond removal, or tanked out

§          Holes from rebar stakes will be pounded closed

§          No drive-in trucks involved for take down- all gear hauled out by camp members

§          Unused packaged foods and beverages will be donated to DPW as available

§          Small and properly burnable trash will be disposed of in the small camp (off the ground) burn barrel during the week, and ashes will be hauled out.

§          The whole of the camp will be thoroughly policed!!!!!  Members will do their part to assist with clean up in other areas of BRC, and have committed to no less than 2 hours of city clean up.

§          All trash will be hauled out- way out, of the area before proper disposal.  NO TRASH will be left in Gerlach or Empire!!!!!!  Period!!!!!

§          The village does not anticipate burning any significant components in the burn platforms, however, small properly burnable elements may be included.

§          A crew of 4-5 members will be present through Tuesday am to be certain the location of the camp leaves no trace.

TO ALL GOOD CITIZENS OF THE COOPERATIVE EFFORT OF ALLIED CAMPS OF TERMINAL CITY, WE SEND

GREETINGS!

We, official record keeper number SS-02336/n03-b, to the undersecretary to the vice-operative to the Minister of State (Ex Officio) applaud the wondrous and grandiose undertaken by the Peoples Plenipotentiary of the great and wise assemblages of camps undertaken in the City of Doom earlier this month. We, and all those within the gray stone walls of the ministry from the lowliest toothbrush operator to the esteemed Minister, stand struck in awe over the weighty and non-anti-dissober achievement of this grand Solemn Pact to hold intimate the ties of friendship and solidarity between the camps involved.

We, and those in our dungeons, have been granted leave of our Great and Noble duties for the might of His Excellence Killbuck I to grant assistance to this undertaking, the scope of which heretofore unknown to Man and Beast alike, for the greater good of this cemented alliance. We strive to be of assistance under any of the following, for the greater glory of those keeping the home fires lit:

Art. 1. The Ministry, or its representatives official and otherwise, or any other member of the Alliance of Camps, shall keep in semi-permanent contact with each of the Glorious Camps for intercommunications regarding their common interests of the general Black Rock City situation.

Art. 2. In the event the common interests of the Various and Sundry Contracting Parties were to be put in danger by llc events of whatever nature, they shall without delay enter into detailed internal consultation on the measures to be adopted for the safeguard of these interests.

Art. 3. In the event the vital interests of one of the Contracting Parties were threatened by an outside party, all of the other Contracting Parties shall give the menaced Party its full political, diplomatic, and militaristic support for the purpose of eliminating this threat on land, on the dust clouds, and in the air.

Art. 4. The governments of the Contracting Parties shall increase ever more deeply their collaboration in all interrelated fields for the purpose of assuring, in the case provided for, the rapid application of the duties of alliance assumed in Article 3. Analogously, the Allied Camps shall keep in permanent contact with each other for the adoption of other measures necessary to the practical application of the dispositions of the present Pact. For the purposes indicated in the above-mentioned two paragraphs, Extensive Commissions shall be formed and placed under the direction of the respective Ministers of Foreign Affairs.

Art. 5. The two Contracting Parties, conscious of the importance of their common relations with other camps allied and/or friendly to them, are decided to maintain and to continue to develop these relations by common agreement and in harmony with the consonant relations that bind them with these Powers until otherwise dictated.

Art. 6. This Pact becomes operative immediately upon ratification by all members thereupon granted presence, either physical or non-corporeal, to the Great Echo Summit and subsequent summits and Talks. All Contracting Parties agree to fix the first period of its validity to the current year. Before the expiration of this term they shall come to an agreement at an opportune time regarding the extension of the validity of this Pact.

For the combined militia, peoples, serfs, workers, peasants, nobles, and barkeepers, we heretofore affix pixels to uphold the equitable and ceremonious instrument herein drafted.

Terminal City Allied Camps.

World Domination Plan:

(As decreed in the Great Donner Summit of 2007)

A - The Politburo of the Great and Illustrious soviet of Combined Camps and Co-opted Places (CCCP), joined under the PBR stained banner of Terminal City,  will begin the Sunday before opening of BRC the plans set forth prior to the event for world domination. Most city Residents, lackeys, minions, prisoners, and others will be participating until they are no longer able to do so.

2 - Since this village should result in continental scorched earth scars, with significant ground disturbance, clean up is straightforward.

3 - Corpses will be strewn upon streets.

4 - All toxic fluids will be poured into local waterways, or sprayed upon the populace by misting devices.

5 - Holes in limbs from rebar and other weapons will be infected, guaranteeing further decimations of population centers.

6 - No dive bombers involved for take down - all facilities shall be destroyed by hand “in the traditional method”.

7 - All foods and beverages will be contaminated prior to donation to DPW as available.

8 - Any remaining burnable matter will be burned slowly to release as much toxic material as possible. Ashes of the dead will be hauled out.

9 - The whole of the camps will act as a militant police force. Members will do their part to assist with clean up of all non-terminated persons found.

J - The camp intends on also contaminating the burn platforms, however, materials shall be evaluated for their potential toxicity, and may be included.

Q - A crew of 4-5 members from each participating entity, under the command authority of the Politburo of Terminal City, will be present through Tuesday to be certain the camps have left no trace of humanity.

K - As noted, this is a relatively straightforward deal.  Procedures described herein shall cease upon completion of the above phases of Terminal Operations, leaving the scorched Earth as if nothing was ever there..
